The Association of Healthcare Providers (India) (AHPI) and the Institution of Fire Engineers (India) (IFE) have collaborated to develop a Fire Safety Inspection Scheme for healthcare facilities, including hospitals. This scheme ensures that facilities adhere to fire safety regulations and standards. Inspections are conducted by QACA Central Asia, an NABCB-accredited inspection agency, with the option to issue a Certificate of Compliance or provide reports indicating non-compliance.
To enhance fire safety in healthcare facilities by ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
The scheme covers fire prevention, life safety, fire protection, preparedness for fire incidents, and electrical, mechanical, and instrument provisions.
Competent agencies accredited to ISO 17020 conduct the fire safety inspections.
Inspections are based on applicable regulations, the National Building Code Part 4, and other recognized standards.
Following the inspection, a certificate or report is issued, indicating compliance or non-compliance.
The scheme includes fire safety audits to assess and improve fire safety measures.
