The credibility of a Certification Body or an Inspection body conducting conformity assessment is established by independent national Accreditation boards through a thorough a rigorous evaluation process. Accreditation boards also have a mutual recognition system such as through the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and similar other oversight bodies, therefore the certificate issued by an accredited certification or inspection body, which under the multilateral agreements, signifies that the certificate is of equal credibility as the certificates issued by other accredited certification or inspection bodies.
Accreditation is increasingly proving to be a necessary basis for successful participation in international competitions.
